So you want to make a candle, huh? Let me first warn you that making candles can become very addictive because it's so much fun, and it's a wonderful creative outlet.
I've been making candles for a few years so I'm sharing some of my own observations with you in hopes that you can avoid some of the costly mistakes I made when I first started making candles. Whether you are making a candle for personal use or for profit there are many things you will need to consider before you start. I also hope this information will help you save some time and money.
First let me begin by stating that making candles is not a quick and easy way to make money. There is a lot of testing involved in order to create a safe candle, whether you sell the candle, keep it for yourself, or give it away as a gift. Although there are some shortcuts you can take as far as getting opinions on what wax, fragrance oil, or wicks to use, be prepared to spend a lot of time testing your own candles to make sure they are safe and burn properly.
